About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at School for Inspiring Talents. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in enhancing the education and well-being of our students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our Deputy Principal and class teachers to develop and implement personalized learning programs for individuals and groups of students. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing general support to the class teacher in managing and organizing student behavior and learning needs.
  • Assisting in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting the teacher in promoting student engagement and participation in lessons.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEMH needs.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people with SEMH difficulties and has experience working in a similar setting. You will be expected to demonstrate a practical and empathetic approach to teaching and learning, with a focus on promoting student well-being and academic success.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning theories.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
