About the Role

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team within our Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric care to an inpatient population within our medium secure services.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in the assessment and management of patients.
  • Develop and implement sustainable specialist forensic services for the population of North Wales.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the forensic service, including prisons and community forensic mental health teams.
Requirements
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of completing CCT.
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Approved Clinician status or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Forensic CC T Post graduate Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Teaching and training experience, including postgraduate teaching and multidisciplinary teaching.
  • Research and audit experience, including the ability to initiate and undertake original work.
  • Leadership skills, ability to work under pressure, and good communication skills.
