Position Overview
As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This position is essential for overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices across various sectors, including Nuclear, Oil & Gas, and Construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the onsite HSE team, driving safety initiatives and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Provide strategic leadership and coaching to HSE personnel, fostering professional development.
- Advise project managers on HSE matters, ensuring best practices are implemented.
- Oversee compliance with company safety protocols, maintaining exemplary health and safety standards.
- Champion a Safety First culture by delivering training sessions and toolbox talks.
- Monitor and report HSE performance in alignment with regional guidelines.
- Identify safety concerns and propose initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Conduct HSE audits, ensuring timely resolution of any identified issues.
- Encourage the submission of safety cards and follow up on necessary actions with relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication with project management and client HSE representatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- NEBOSH and IOSH certifications.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior HSE role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in the construction sector.
- Background in Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or other highly regulated industries.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearance.
