About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Histopathologist to join our dynamic Cellular Pathology Service at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services and contributing to the development of our pathology network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert diagnostic services in Thoracic Pathology, working closely with clinical teams to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses.
  • Contribute to the development of our pathology network, including the implementation of digital pathology solutions and the provision of training and education to junior staff.
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Develop and lead research projects, collaborating with colleagues from across the Trust and with external partners to advance our understanding of disease and improve patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practice.
  • Holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent qualification.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) or equivalent qualification.
  • Subspecialty interest in Thoracic Pathology and experience of working in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
