Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join our client's established and highly professional maintenance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for performing a range of planned preventative and reactive maintenance duties on paint and moulding plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on paint and moulding plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Respond to immediate machinery breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Work to a structured PPM schedule, performing servicing, testing, and cleaning to optimize equipment reliability.
- Read and interpret detailed electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Perform safe testing in live conditions and undertake basic fault finding, diagnosis, and repair on PLC-controlled equipment.
- Repair and install motors, as well as strip and rebuild complex special purpose machinery as required.
- Liaise with suppliers and other maintenance engineers and technical support providers at machine manufacturers.
- Specify replacement parts and tools, and overhaul and replace electrical and mechanical parts as required.
- Mentor apprentices in best maintenance practices and work to Health and Safety requirements.
Requirements:
- Relevant electrical and mechanical qualifications to at least HNC level or above.
- Completed an engineering apprenticeship.
- 18th Edition IEE regs certification.
- Skilled in basic PLC fault finding, diagnosis, and repair activities.
- At least 3 years' experience gained in an engineering or manufacturing maintenance environment.
