• Lead a KS3 English group functioning at a lower KS2 level, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible.
• Implement a variety of English and phonics interventions to support individual student progress.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Utilize diverse teaching strategies and resources to engage students and foster a love of learning.
• Evaluate, document, and report on the progress and development of students, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional growth of all students.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including SEN specialists, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the broader school community.
• Uphold the institution's positive ethos and core values.
• Work closely with parents, guardians, and external agencies to support student development.
Requirements

SEN English Teacher
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching English.
• Proven experience working with students with SEN.
• Strong knowledge of Functional Skills English curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Ability to differentiate teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Experience in delivering phonics and other literacy interventions.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about assisting students with SEN.
• Additional qualifications or training in SEN or speech, language, and communication needs (desirable).
• Creativity, flexibility, and a proactive approach to teaching and learning.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
