Caretaker - Redditch - Facilities Maintenance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Caretaker to join our team at Heart of Worcestershire College. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the college's facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out general maintenance repairs of all types, including painting and minor works.
- Operate PC-based systems that control the environment, including heating and ventilation systems.
- Provide front-line support for problems concerning the fire and intruder alarm systems.
- Ensure the standards of cleanliness on each site are maintained, including litter picking and dealing with hazards.
- Assist with the general maintenance of college grounds, including weeding, trimming shrubs, and removing moss from block paving and other surfaces.
- Liaise with building contractors and other organizations coming on site.
- Process incoming jobs notified by the maintenance reporting system.
- Ensure chairs and furniture in rooms are set out and cleared away as required.
- Qualified First Aider or willingness to gain within 12 months of appointment.
- Relevant experience in maintenance work and security.
- Ability to carry out general maintenance repairs of all types.
- Knowledge of health and safety issues.
- Ability to deal with people effectively at all levels.
- Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
- Self-motivating and versatile.
- Flexible approach to working hours and daily duties.
- Hold a full/clean license to drive vehicles and own vehicle.
