TimePlan Education is collaborating with a dynamic special education institution catering to children aged 5-11 years.

We are in search of a dedicated and empathetic Special Needs Educational Assistant to become a vital part of our team within the Secondary Autism Unit.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in providing support to students diagnosed with autism, each of whom possesses an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

This position entails close collaboration with students, educators, and families to deliver tailored assistance, foster enriching learning experiences, and encourage the holistic development of every student.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver individualized and small group support to students with autism, ensuring their unique educational requirements are fulfilled.

2. Assist educators in executing lesson plans and classroom activities, modifying resources as necessary to accommodate the needs of students with EHCPs.

3. Implement behavioral management techniques and aid students in enhancing their social and communication abilities.
4. Monitor and document student progress, working alongside educators and the SENCO to refine support strategies as required.
5. Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and other support personnel to cultivate a cohesive and nurturing educational atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience:
Prior experience in working with children with autism or in a comparable special educational needs (SEN) environment is highly advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, empathy, and the capacity to maintain composure in challenging situations.
A solid understanding of autism and effective strategies for supporting students with ASD, familiarity with EHCPs, and knowledge of safeguarding protocols.
