Quality Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team at Owen Daniels Consultancy. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming products and materials, and for maintaining the highest standards of quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect all incoming products to confirm conformance to drawing and specifications.
  • Use standard gauging and inspection techniques to verify product quality.
  • Review all incoming products to ensure suppliers have fully complied with purchase order, drawing, and specification requirements.
  • Review associated paperwork to ensure full traceability of processes.
  • Prioritize workload and work independently to achieve required deadlines.
  • Assist in the delivery of key activities and projects as required.
  • Produce and log data to supply reports and analysis of quality certification and documentation.
  • Demonstrate outstanding organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work pre-emptively and think ahead at all times with multiple solutions to hand for any given scenario.
  • Working to very tight and constantly changing deadlines with absolute discretion.
  • Provide backup to the quality team covering holiday leave and/or supporting overflow activities as deemed appropriate by Quality Control Manager.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date data and ensure it is maintained in relation to Quality Administration/Certification.
  • Ensure any discrepancies with certification or product are highlighted, investigated, and resolved prior to release.
  • Raise any concerns or barriers when reviewing certification/documentation that may delay products being booked to stores or released to manufacture.
  • Support the quality team in relation to procedures for ISO 9001 and 14001.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in standard gauging inspection using callipers, micrometres, thread gauges, height gauges, etc.
  • CMM capability with MCOSMOS software would be advantageous but not essential.

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will be working on-site in Birmingham, supporting a growing manufacturing business.
