Job Purpose
As a key member of the Synchro team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of telecoms projects. Your primary objective will be to ensure that operations and service delivery comply with contract terms and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Resource Management: Manage the commercial resources of your assigned projects, from planned expenditure through to contract control, ensuring that all financial aspects are accurately tracked and reported.
- Project Variations: Support the authorization and submission of project variations, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that all changes are properly documented and approved.
- Risk Mitigation: Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, providing expert advice to minimize potential losses and ensure project success.
- Expertise Provision: Provide commercial and contractual expertise, including valuation certification, correspondence, claims, budget monitoring, and performance data, to support project delivery and decision-making.
- Cost and Value Data: Provide accurate cost and value data at both project and regional levels, enabling informed business decisions and strategic planning.
- Team Development: Coach, develop, and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the Synchro team.
Key Skills & Experience
- Commercial Management: Solid experience in senior commercial management and contractor procurement, with working knowledge of NEC3 ECC forms, is essential for this role.
- Industry Background: A background in telecoms, civil engineering, or utilities is highly desirable, as is experience working with large capital expenditure projects.
- Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation with suppliers and partners, finding alternate solutions and resolving issues within contractual terms, is critical to success in this position.
- Data Analysis: Ability to use data for financial reporting with actionable insights and strategic focus is essential for this role.
- Educational Qualification: A HNC/HND level education, or equivalent, is required for this position.
Role Summary
- Location: This role is based in Glasgow, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes time spent in the nearest office.
