Design Engineer Opportunity

Premier Engineering is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Cirencester. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement design solutions
  2. Produce high-quality designs and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
  3. Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production processes
  4. Contribute to the final assembly of products and ensure they meet quality standards
  5. Develop and maintain 3D models and drawings, as well as input parts into the MRP system
  6. Check and sign off drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer who can work effectively in a small multi-disciplinary team. If you have a strong background in mechanical engineering and CAD software, and are proficient in MS Office, we would like to hear from you.

Requirements:
  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
  2. Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  3. Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  4. Proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
  5. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  6. Able to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
  7. Able to carry out mechanical calculations
  8. Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable
  9. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  10. Proficient using MS Office
  11. Excellent organisational and time management skills
