Job Opportunity: Engineering Manager
Teespro Recruitment is working exclusively with a leading Engineering Consultancy to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager on a permanent basis.
Job Summary:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all design activities to ensure that goals or objectives of the design department are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
- Support the review and approval process of engineering and design deliverables, as required.
- Establish work plans and staffing for each design project and arrange for the assignment of design personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with other functional/departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of design personnel development and to ensure they are fully informed of design objectives, purpose, and achievements.
- Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
- Develop and implement strategies and processes designed to provide efficient and effective service.
- Direct and integrate the activities of multiple design projects; ensuring that design efforts are generally cohesive, consistent, and effective in supporting company mission, goals, and strategic plan.
- Develop and establish policies, strategies, and operating objectives.
- Participate in and oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of individual design objectives and short and long-range plans; develop tracking and evaluation programs to assist in the accomplishment of established design goals and objectives.
- Support the review and approval process of all engineering deliverables as required.
Requirements:
- Extensive design experience across numerous industries (Offshore, Subsea, Marine, Onshore Structural Design & Fabrication).
- Demonstrate engineering-related business experience skills.
- Excellent supervisory, man management skills, and leadership qualities.
- Ability to effectively manage a multi-disciplined team of engineers and support staff.
- Proficient in identifying resources requirements and management of same.
- Proficient in identifying and conceptualising innovative engineering solutions.
- Ability to coach and mentor other members of the design team, workshop, and project engineering staff.
