Position Overview: The Pharmacy departments at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are seeking dedicated and qualified Pharmacy Technicians. This role presents a unique opportunity for individuals eager to acquire experience in a hospital setting, engaging in both dispensary operations and ward support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the effective operation of the dispensary, providing essential support to the dispensary team and Senior Technicians.
  • Participate in the training and onboarding of new team members, including pharmacy apprentices and trainee technicians.
  • Conduct labelling, dispensing, and verification tasks, while monitoring workload and utilizing tracking systems to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Engage in patient counselling and various ward-based responsibilities, such as assessing patients' own medications and conducting medicines reconciliation.
  • Support stores operations, including managing deliveries and stock control processes.


Training and Development: Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training to become both an Accredited Checking Technician and a Ward-Based Technician, with the potential for career progression to band 5 upon completion of required accreditations.


Work Environment: This role requires adaptability, as it involves supporting various functions within the dispensary, stores, and ward-based settings across the hospital sites.
