About the Role

Vistry Group PLC is seeking a skilled Telehandler Operator to join our team in Truro, Cornwall. As a Telehandler Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift truck to unload, store, and distribute materials on our construction site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift truck to receive, store, and distribute materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Inspect the forklift truck daily to ensure it is in good working condition and report any defects to the Site Manager.
  • Secure the site at the end of each day and ensure that all materials are properly stored and secured.
  • Provide basic first aid if required and maintain a first aid kit on site.
  • Monitor and report any hazards or breaches of health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Site Manager.

Requirements

  • Trained Plant Operator CPCS Card – Telescopic Handler – All sizes Exec 360 Slew – Category A17 Endorsement C.
  • First aid appointed person.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience as a Materials Controller/Forklift Operator or trades person.
  • Ability to work effectively and safely under pressure.
  • Excellent time keeping and attendance record.
  • Able to represent the Company professionally at all times.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer focused.
  • Able to multitask.
  • A commitment to work as required to meet the needs of the business.
  • A willingness to attend site out of hours to deal with emergency situations.
  • Able to travel to different sites on a regular basis.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
  • Experience in one or more of the following trades: Carpentry, Bricklaying, Dry lining, Plastering, Painting and decorating.
