About the Role

Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join their £679 million improvement project on the A428 in Cambridgeshire. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering a 10-mile dual carriageway between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and client representatives to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop and implement temporary works design briefs to meet project requirements.
  • Review designs and identify potential issues to ensure compliance with contract scopes.
  • Contribute to the project 4-week lookahead programme to ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate with Section Engineers and supervisors to manage site works and resolve conflicts.
  • Understand and apply design specifications and drawings for the project.
  • Contribute to delivering Inspection and Test Plans for site works.
  • Identify and report Non-Conformances to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Familiarize yourself with and adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
  • Working towards or in possession of a Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng, etc.).
  • Competence with digital tools and formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
  • Relevant CSCS card and full UK driving licence for highways projects.

Preferred Experience

  • Excavation works, concrete works, and structural steelwork experience.
