About the Role

The Test Capability Lead will be responsible for developing and leading a complex Test Capability programme from strategy into implementation. This is a new and exciting leadership role within the Future Combat Air (FCA) Line of Business that will enable Leonardo to meet the challenges of a highly successful and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather inputs from technical development stakeholders to capture their Test Capability needs in support of the wider programme's Test & Evaluation plans.
  • Work closely with stakeholders within the engineering and capability teams to develop a Test Capability roadmap.
  • Ensure alignment with the overall programme and internal engineering roadmaps to achieve an integrated, end-to-end Test Capability.
  • Represent Leonardo as an SME and provide support to industry engagement on Test Capability Strategy topics.
  • Build a team to turn the roadmap into reality and implement and deliver the Test Capabilities into the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
  • Develop and deliver the Test Capability roadmap to quality, budget, and schedule.

Requirements

  • A degree in a relevant Science / Technology / Engineering / Maths discipline or similar experience.
  • A good level of Systems Engineering practitioner capability across the entire lifecycle.
  • Enthusiasm to take on new challenges.
  • A passion for knowledge sharing and developing others.
  • Ability to develop close relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to define and develop requirements in an uncertain domain.
  • Effective and flexible communicator, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analysis and definition of effective test capabilities within a range of lifecycle methodologies.
  • Experience of developing strategic roadmaps.
  • Experience of building effective teams.
  • Experience of developing and delivering automated test capabilities into complex environments.
