We are seeking a dedicated and experienced English professional to assume the role of Curriculum Lead for English, with a particular emphasis on Functional Skills.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership (40%):
  • Curriculum Development: Assist in the design, execution, and assessment of the English curriculum, especially focusing on Functional Skills, to cater to the varied needs of our students.
  • Team Leadership: Guide, manage, and mentor a committed team of English instructors, promoting a collaborative and innovative teaching culture.
  • Quality Assurance: Evaluate and enhance the quality of English Functional Skills delivery, ensuring adherence to educational standards and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for and advance the English curriculum.

Teaching (60%):
  • Classroom Excellence: Provide exceptional GCSE and Functional Skills English instruction to a diverse student population, employing innovative and inclusive teaching methodologies.
  • Student Support: Offer personalized assistance to students, aiding them in achieving their academic and personal aspirations.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Conduct evaluations, deliver constructive feedback, and monitor student progress to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed about current English teaching practices and contribute to the professional growth of the English and Maths team.
