What We Are Seeking:

We are in search of a maternity leave replacement for a buyer in our wine division. You will collaborate closely with our Head of Wine on product range assessments and category enhancements.

Occasional travel for supplier meetings, both domestically and internationally, will be part of this role.

Proficiency in data analysis is essential, as we utilize tools such as Power BI and JDE; experience with these systems is beneficial. A thorough understanding of wine, along with the ability to manage and analyze data, is required. You will be expected to identify market trends, potential shortages, cost-saving opportunities, and commercial prospects. Additionally, you will assess underperforming products while considering their lifecycle.

You will be responsible for creating design briefs and collaborating with our design team to ensure that the wine packaging aligns with category standards and meets all legal requirements.

Other duties will include quality assurance of products to ensure compliance, managing reports, addressing customer inquiries regarding product safety, and producing a monthly internal wine newsletter.

You will seize every opportunity to foster relationships with existing suppliers, some of whom have partnered with Adnams for generations. Your experience in building strong partnerships will aid in sourcing new suppliers for both our retail and trade sectors.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum WSET Level 2 qualification and have at least 5 years of industry experience in either the on-trade or off-trade sectors. We are also open to candidates with less experience but a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is essential.
