Senior Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team in the Bristol area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning function on medium to large-scale projects, ensuring that programmes are delivered on time and within budget. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement project plans, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring that they are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with project objectives.
  2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  3. Ensure that all project plans are aligned with company policies and procedures, and that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that they are aware of project requirements and deadlines.
  5. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, ensuring that best practices are adopted across the organisation.
  6. Provide training and development opportunities for junior planners, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their roles.
  7. Health and Safety:

    Ensure that all project plans are aligned with health and safety policies and procedures, and that all stakeholders are aware of their responsibilities and obligations.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in planning and programme management, with experience of working on medium to large-scale projects. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
