We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Training Specialist to join our team at Capula. As a key member of our Learning and Development team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of engineering training within the company.
Key Activities- Collaborate with the Learning and Development Advisor and engineering leads to develop and implement comprehensive training programs for engineers across all disciplines.
- Design and deliver training interventions in electrical engineering, ensuring that they are relevant, effective, and meet the needs of our engineers.
- Work closely with engineering managers to refresh and upskill their teams, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Develop and advise on technical training content, ensuring that it is accurate, up-to-date, and meets the needs of our engineers.
- Foster a positive learning environment by engaging with learners and balancing their aspirations with reality.
- Help learners develop confidence in their abilities as they progress through their courses.
- Challenge decision-making positively and with consideration.
- Support engineering development reviews and input into annual reviews.
- Support other areas of training and development across Capula as needed.
As an Electrical Engineering Training Specialist, you will also be responsible for leading the Apprenticeship scheme and supporting apprentices throughout their education journey.
- Lead the Apprenticeship scheme, ensuring that it is effective and meets the needs of our apprentices.
- Attend regular reviews with learners and education providers, ensuring that progress is tracked and support is provided as needed.
- Ensure effective communication between education providers, learners, mentors, and Capula, ensuring that clear and effective communication is maintained.
- Work with education providers to ensure that content is relevant and appropriate, and discuss how gaps can be closed.
- Understand the planned curriculum for learners and provide support where needed.
- Work with engineering managers to identify suitable project work to enhance learning and ensure Key Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) can be achieved.
- Lead the mentor network, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Lead reviews on logbooks and KSBs with Embedded and Digital Apprentices.
- Develop a technical environment for apprentices to learn hands-on technical skills.
- Either worked as an Electrical Control Systems Engineer or experience delivering Electrical Engineering courses.
- Ability to coach and mentor learners.
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels, written and oral.
- Work with the values of the company and set an example for behavior.
- Appropriate qualification in an Electrical/Electronic/control system/software Engineering related field.
- BEng Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring.
