Job Title: Head of Process Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Process Engineering to lead our team in the provision of technical support to the nuclear Submarine maintenance teams based in Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of work packages in accordance with the design process to maintain and improve capabilities.
  • Manage the production, checking and approval of technical documentation and drawings.
  • Lead engineering analyses including calculations, component structural analysis and system fluid flow analysis.
  • Act as subject matter expert and lead the provision of advice to key stakeholders on the implementation and maintenance of design documentation.
  • Manage and develop a team of Engineers with varying levels of seniority/experience.
  • Control modifications to the design intent of nuclear process plant and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • A degree in a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional membership as a Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers in a design or technical support function.
  • Experience using engineering software packages.
  • Experience in the design, operation or maintenance of pressure systems in a highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of the design lifecycle and experience of leading work within it.
  • Experience in project specification, planning and budgeting.

This is a full-time role with a 36-hour working week, with flexibility to work from home and be onsite 1-2 days a week. The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
