Ambulance Care Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient transport services, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from medical appointments.
Key Responsibilities- Driving Duties: You will be responsible for driving a long wheel-base vehicle with manual transmission, ensuring the safe transportation of patients and adhering to Trust Policy guidelines and current Legislation.
- Vehicle Checks: You will conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the ambulance vehicle is roadworthy, reporting any defects and maintaining accurate records.
- Patient Care: You will provide high-quality patient care, administering ambulance nursing to an appropriate skill level, and using Moving Patient equipment to safely transport patients.
- Communication: You will operate communication systems, administer information, and document patient data accurately, adhering to current General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requirements.
- Teamwork: You will work collaboratively with colleagues and associated services to provide a positive patient experience, promoting good internal and external communications.
- Essential Qualifications: Full manual UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 points for speeding.
- Essential Experience: Previous experience of working in a customer care role, using online systems, and email.
- Desirable Qualifications: Previous experience of working with patients or clients in a care setting, shift working experience, and previous NHS experience.
