About the Role
Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety, Health and Environment Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Safety, Health and Environment department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe planning, delivery, and review of complex projects across various sectors of the construction and maintenance industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor and assess safety, health, and environmental practices, providing guidance and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the safe execution of projects.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of site personnel on safety, health, and environmental best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site managers and supervisors on safety, health, and environmental matters.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay informed on the latest safety, health, and environmental developments.
- Support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and strategies to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
Requirements
- NEBOSH Construction or equivalent diploma.
- Experience in the construction industry, preferably in a safety advisor role.
- Member of a professional body, progressing to chartered status.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
