Early Years Practitioner

Watoto PreSchool is a not-for-profit charitable organization seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our team. As an Apprentice Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young learners.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a safe, secure, and supportive environment for children to grow and develop.
- Work collaboratively with our Early Years Team to plan and implement engaging activities that promote effective teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the creation of a purposeful and stimulating environment that fosters learning opportunities both indoors and outdoors.
- Promote the inclusion of all children and use professional knowledge to meet their diverse needs.
- Establish positive relationships with children, act as a role model, and set achievable expectations.
- Organize the environment to ensure resources and equipment are available and suitable for individual children's needs.
- Meet the physical needs of children, encouraging good hygiene standards while promoting independence.
- Support children's emotional and social needs by implementing our Positive Behaviour Policy and role modeling high standards.
- Encourage children to interact and work cooperatively with others.
- Support our commitment to safeguarding children in all aspects of our service.
- Develop positive relationships with parents and carers to support their role in children's learning.
- Be proactive in continuing your own learning to improve outcomes for children and their families.
- Have a clear knowledge of and adhere to all Safeguarding, Health and Safety Regulations.
- Undertake duties set by the Leadership Team to assist in the day-to-day running of the PreSchool.
You will work towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
- Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered through our dedicated training provider, Realise.
Requirements:- GCSE Grade C/4 or numerical equivalent in English Language and Maths - desired
- Ability to develop good relationships with peers and customers and possess good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage tasks accordingly
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
This is an excellent opportunity to continue into sustained employment after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
