About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Flood Risk Consultant to join our Water and Environment North team at Waterman Aspen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on flood risk management and water resources to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement flood risk management strategies for our clients, including business cases for flood defence grant funding.
- Conduct hydraulic modelling and drainage modelling using software such as Flood Modeller TUFLOW and MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow.
- Work with public sector clients, including local authorities and the Environment Agency, to deliver planning applications and projects.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-makers to deliver positive outcomes.
- Provide technical expertise and support to colleagues and clients on flood risk management and water resources.
Requirements
- Relevant degree qualification in Civil Engineering, geography or equivalent.
- Chartered Member or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution such as CIWEM, ICE, APM, etc.
- Technical experience in UK flood risk legislation and planning standards.
- Experience in developing business cases for flood risk management schemes.
- Knowledge of hydraulic modelling and drainage modelling software.
- Experience working in client-facing environments and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Full UK driving licence.
- Chartered Membership of relevant professional organisation.
