About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Tata Steel. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of capital projects across our UK operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Drawing Office Team and the Project Support Team to ensure the successful delivery of projects
  • Lead a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen, and contractors to ensure safe working practices and adherence to Tata Engineering Standards
  • Provide engineering and technology support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering equipment developments and liaise with stakeholders to ensure project success

Requirements

  • Degree in an appropriate discipline and relevant plant experience in the steel or construction industry
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects and management of external contractors
  • Excellent budget management skills and comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent problem-solving abilities
