Job Title: Deputy Principal - Education

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Principal to join our team at Stephenson Academy. As a Deputy Principal, you will play a key role in supporting the Principal in leading the educational vision and strategy of the academy.

Stephenson Academy is a successful 80-place special school catering for students with Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH), many with associated challenging behaviour. Our students also have additional special educational needs such as speech, language and communication difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of improving student outcomes and will be able to demonstrate their ability to work with students, staff, and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Principal in leading the educational vision and strategy of the academy
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of educational policies and procedures
  • Work with teachers and support staff to improve student outcomes and achievement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of staff training and development programs
