Job Summary:
The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our Maternity Quality and Safety team as a Maternity Quality and Safety Midwife. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinically experienced midwife to make a significant impact on the safety and effectiveness of our maternity service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide professional and operational support to the Midwifery clinical and management team in relation to Claims, Complaints, Clinical Risk and Governance initiatives and issues.
- Assist with the day-to-day maternity risk management process and strategy, including the accurate reporting and validation of incidents onto the electronic system.
- Identify, monitor, and support risk issues within the department, and ensure the workforce takes a proactive approach to mitigating risk and improving safety.
- Work with the Maternity Quality and Safety team to develop practice, inform training needs, and drive the highest standards of care.
- Support the implementation of the governance framework across the service through high-quality internal reporting and communication.
Requirements:
- First-level degree in a related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence.
- Post-graduate qualification and/or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience.
- Service development experience, delivering clinical quality improvements and successful service change.
- Experience as a Labour ward Co-ordinator Band 7.
- Experience in all care settings.
Desirable:
- Experience in a similar role or with a similar scope of responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Highly organized, flexible, and motivated individual.
