VRS-UK is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Equipment Coordinator to join our laboratory support team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running and reduced downtime of laboratory equipment for our busy scientists.

The successful candidate will work closely with our laboratory support team and the scientific community to coordinate external contractors and service engineers who are due on-site to install, service, calibrate, maintain, and fix laboratory instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating repairs and proactive maintenance efforts using both in-house and external engineering resources.
  • Serving as the primary contact and host for all visiting engineers, ensuring their compliance with client protocols.
  • Acting as the initial point of response for equipment repair issues and assisting the scientific team with equipment setup.
  • Delivering clear and effective communication to the client's user group while collaborating closely with our existing laboratory support team.
  • Accurately inputting all necessary data into the client's asset and compliance databases to maintain a clear history of assets and data integrity.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a scientific position.
  • Experience in an administrative/customer-facing role is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge/experience of laboratory regulations desired.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft office packages, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to multitask.
