Job Title: Civil Engineer - Highways and Drainage Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Civil Engineer to join our team at Service Care Solutions. As a key member of our Highways and Drainage team, you will be responsible for mentoring graduate engineers and engineering technicians to develop their skillsets and meet the needs of our clients and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor graduate engineers and engineering technicians to assist on existing workload and develop their skillsets
  • Ensure best practices are applied within the office and assist the Directors with improving design services and operational efficiency
  • Develop and implement effective solutions for highway and drainage design projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices

Requirements:

  • Chartered with either CIWEM, ICE and/or CIHT
  • Minimum three years' experience within Highways and Drainage design
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD and Causeway Flow or equivalent design software
  • Producing detailed drainage and highway calculations and sketches
  • Familiarity with CIRIA design guides
  • BS EN752 and the Design and Construction Guidance
  • Working experience within the adoptable standards Section 278
  • Section 38 and 104
  • Commercial awareness of costing budgets and quotations
  • Report writing
  • Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings
  • Preparing Specifications
