This exciting opportunity is available in the Emergency Department at Craigavon Area Hospital, part of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.

  • The sessional pay range for this post is £143.15 - £216.01 per 4 hour session, with enhanced rates applying to out of hours sessions.
  • Payment rates will be determined by the level of experience attained as a qualified GP.
  • Part-time 2 sessions / 8 hours per week are available, with a variety of sessions including morning, afternoon, evening and weekends.
  • The Trust is willing to consider the needs of the successful applicant when agreeing sessions.
  • This post will attract CPD on a pro rata basis to full-time entitlements.
  • Annual leave entitlement for full-time hours is a minimum of 25 days per annum and up to a maximum of 30 days per annum.
  • This post will be eligible for membership of the HPSS Superannuation Scheme.
  • The Trust supports the requirements for continuing professional development (CPD) as laid down by the GMC and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities.

Clinical Duties

Clinical duties will include all those duties normally expected of a GP in an Emergency Setting. The majority of the appointee's time will be spent on clinical duties, including:

  • Seeing patients that have been triaged and providing primary medical care to ambulant patients with a wide variety of conditions.
  • Providing a high standard of evidence-based compassionate care to patients in the Emergency department.
  • Teaching undergraduates, nursing staff and colleagues.
  • Liaising with social services, inpatient specialties, primary care and AHPs to provide a high standard of care to patients in the Emergency department.
