Job Purpose:

To support the operational activities and commercial goals of the Maen Karne Ready Mix (RMX) business by operating a company vehicle safely and efficiently, in accordance with all relevant regulations, current legislation, and company policies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of ready-mix concrete to various customer locations, working with the shipper.
  • Checking the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and recording its condition using the system provided, and promptly reporting any faults as they occur.
  • Caring for the company's vehicle and assets while in your charge, ensuring they are used according to manufacturer's recommendations and all legal and company requirements.
  • Driving as efficiently and productively as possible within the prevailing road and traffic conditions.
  • Giving due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public, and other road users at all times.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Adhering to safe working practices at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Representing the company both on the road and at the customers' premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times, and promptly reporting any issues to your manager or supervisor on the day.
  • Supporting the wider Maen Karne business to deliver its operational plans.
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements for the Role:
  • Must have a valid HGV Class 2 licence.
  • Must hold a valid CPC and Tachograph card.
  • A willingness to learn and undertake further training on other vehicles and equipment.
  • Strong health and safety awareness and commitment to achieving zero harm.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to deliver 1st-class customer service and develop and maintain positive business relationships.
  • Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
