We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations and Innovation Leader to join the University of Leeds as an Academic and Operations Director. This is a key role in the National Alternative Protein Innovation Centre (NAPIC), a £38m entity that aims to lead the UK's alternative protein knowledge and innovation ecosystem.
The successful candidate will be a senior-level leader with a background in a scientific discipline, ideally interdisciplinary with an appreciation of natural, physical, and social sciences. They will have a proven track record of questioning, challenging, and influencing colleagues, leading change, and delivering objectives aligned with the NAPIC vision.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a High-Performing Operational Team: The Academic and Operations Director will lead a highly functional operational team, comprising Technology & Innovation Managers, Communication & Outreach Manager, Programme Manager, Skill & EDI Officer, and Impact & Engagement Officer.
- Develop and Manage External Relationships: The successful candidate will develop and manage external relationships with academic and commercial partners, overseeing all budgetary aspects and the delivery of funded projects.
- Oversee Budgetary Aspects and Project Delivery: The Academic and Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing budgetary aspects and ensuring the successful delivery of funded projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to join the University of Leeds and contribute to the success of the National Alternative Protein Innovation Centre.
