Job Title: Clinical Lead - Quality and Safety

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for leading and implementing quality and safety initiatives across our hospital operations, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and implement quality and safety initiatives across hospital operations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address quality and safety concerns
  • Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to minimize harm to patients
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations into incidents and near misses, and implement sustained change and improvement to patient care
  • Support the development and implementation of quality improvement plans and dashboards
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of safety alerts and information asset registers
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse Level 1
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Improving Quality Together IQT Bronze
  • Leadership development programme/study or evidence of practical application of leadership expertise at senior level
Desirable:
  • Educated to Masters level in relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience of working in similar specialist area
  • Project management qualification or detailed knowledge
  • Improving Quality Together IQT Silver / Foundations in Improvement Science (FISH) in Healthcare
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Knowledge of the essential standards of quality and safety
  • Knowledge of patient safety and quality improvement methodology
  • Working knowledge of NHS complaint policy and legislation
  • Knowledge of DATIX
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques
