Job Overview

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Unqualified PE Teacher to join our team of professionals working in SEMH schools in Chelmsford. As a PE Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social development of students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Support students' physical, emotional, and social development through sports and physical activities, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to adapt the PE curriculum to meet the needs of all students, ensuring a tailored approach to learning.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their personal best and develop essential life skills.
  • Encourage a culture of mutual respect, empathy, and understanding among students, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
Requirements
  • A strong passion for physical education and working with young people, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Experience in coaching or teaching sports, preferably in an SEMH or similar setting, with a proven track record of delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development, with a commitment to ongoing training and self-improvement.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection protocols.
