We are pleased to announce a full-time opportunity for a Band 8a Senior Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Lead to become part of our dynamic team within the Cheshire Mental Health Hub, focusing on Children and Young People's Mental Health Services.
Our Mental Health Hub is dedicated to delivering thorough assessments, formulations, and referrals for children and adolescents facing moderate to severe mental health challenges. This pivotal role of 8a Senior Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Lead will enhance our multi-disciplinary team.
Cheshire CYPMHS collaborates with families and community organizations to elevate mental health services through accessible, inclusive, and specialized care, aiming to enhance the potential and life opportunities of children and young people. We are looking for a motivated and innovative individual who is committed to advancing the mental well-being of children, young people, and their families.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Clinical Coordinator, Team Manager, and Head of Clinical Services, as well as our specialized Clinical Directors, to provide clinical leadership and strategic guidance to the Mental Health Hub. This role includes engaging with other child and youth organizations across Cheshire to foster effective inter-agency collaboration and service enhancement.
The Senior Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Lead will conduct highly specialized psychological evaluations for children and young people presenting with intricate mental health issues. Responsibilities will also include facilitating case discussions to support psychological insights regarding families and providing psychological advice and guidance to colleagues managing high-risk and complex cases.
The post holder will oversee various clinical governance activities to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality services. They will contribute to workforce development through clinical supervision, psychological consultation, and ongoing professional growth for team members. Engagement in research, audits, and service evaluations will be essential to promote best practices and ensure positive outcomes for service users.
It is expected that the post holder will offer placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists, fostering a culture of learning within the team and embedding psychological methodologies.
