POSITION: COST MANAGER | CLIENT SIDE
LOCATION: DERBYSHIRE
SALARY: Up to £50,000 per annum
Capstone Property Recruitment is seeking a skilled Cost Manager to join a prominent global retail organization. This role involves becoming part of a well-established team that delivers in-house commercial consultancy services across the company's international portfolio of new and existing retail locations. The position offers the opportunity for travel to various sites across Europe, with all expenses covered by the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in managing the UK & EU Refit pipeline for all Store Development initiatives.
- Oversee the management of external Quantity Surveying support services, ensuring compliance with fee agreements and work schedules to maximize value and operational efficiency.
- Lead the supply chain to achieve improved cost outcomes across all construction and fit-out projects.
- Collaborate with specification and procurement teams to reduce costs effectively.
- Implement cost control methodologies to manage capital expenditures.
- Enhance the cost approval process, including post-contract variations and change control for all capital construction and refurbishment projects.
- Manage reporting, validation, and tracking measures to meet savings targets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Degree in Quantity Surveying with 3-5 years of experience in Cost Management.
- Progressing towards MRICS chartership.
- Extensive experience on projects valued over £1 million.
- Strong understanding of legal and contractual frameworks.
- Familiarity with all RIBA stages of the design process from inception to completion.
- Comprehensive experience in Retail Construction with a solid grasp of Building Regulations and Compliance.
- Proficient in interpreting architectural drawings and specifications for construction cost documentation.
- High level of financial appraisal skills.
- Knowledge of shop-fitting standards and construction details.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and resolve issues as they arise.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
