Job Category: College of Medicine Faculty

East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine is establishing a new inpatient gastroenterology service line and is looking for board-certified or eligible Gastroenterologists to become part of this innovative team.

This position is dedicated to inpatient care, following a structured schedule of 7 consecutive days of service, followed by 7 days off.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in ERCP/EUS, demonstrate a commitment to medical education, and be adaptable to rotating between various medical centers.

This role encompasses a blend of clinical, educational, and administrative duties, including:

  • Conducting lectures, case discussions, and practical clinical training to foster the development of future healthcare professionals.
  • Engaging in performance improvement initiatives and participating in Gastroenterology committee activities.
  • Collaborating with peers, the Division Chief, and hospital staff to enhance patient care quality.
  • Developing and maintaining treatment protocols, best practice guidelines, and institutional policies.
  • Representing the hospital's Gastroenterology services with professionalism and a focus on patient-centered care.

There is a strong expectation for active participation in outreach, injury prevention, educational initiatives, and supporting the hospital in emergency planning and disaster preparedness as necessary.
