About the Role

Phillips Grant Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their team. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting practice and contributing to the growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in preparing draft financial statements, management accounts, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for diverse small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients.
  • Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping: Handle data entry, reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure clients comply with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and Companies House regulations, including preparing and submitting CT600s and VAT returns.
  • Client Interaction and Support: Attend client meetings, respond to queries, and provide high-quality support to clients, including senior management, high net worth individuals, and entrepreneurs.
  • Team Collaboration and Professional Development: Work closely with senior accountants and team members, sharing knowledge and supporting projects, while engaging in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and career prospects.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-2 years in an accounting practice with a strong grasp of accounting principles.
  • Education: Currently studying or planning to study for an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) qualification.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, good organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, eager to learn and grow in the accounting field, business-savvy with the ability to add value to clients, and a self-starter who works well independently and within a team.
