Production Supervisor

At Tech Connect Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team at our state-of-the-art production facility in Dagenham. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for managing a team of circa 40 production operatives on a shift pattern within the Production area, ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and drive team performance, quality, housekeeping, and adherence to Health & Safety and People Policies.
- Conduct regular communication briefs, 121s, and manage team skills matrix and training needs.
- Oversee payroll approval and handle confidential documents.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH, through risk assessments and managing accidents/near-misses.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensure compliance for audits, manage engineering concerns, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive production plans, manage metrics, ensure parts supply, prioritize tasks, and oversee new product introductions.
- Monitor and improve performance issues, manage resources and overtime, and reduce non-conformance costs.
- Deputize for the Production Manager and undertake other duties as required.
- Proactive in task prioritization to meet production targets and maximize productivity.
- Ability to use data to support decision-making, identify root causes, and implement effective responses.
- ILM Level 3 or equivalent required; ideally with HSE certification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
- Demonstrable experience managing teams of circa 30 in an automotive assembly setting; Strong understanding of automotive quality standards and customer-focused quality practices.
- Experience with ERP systems, people-centric databases and proficient in Excel/Microsoft Office for KPI reporting.
- Relevant automotive assembly manufacturing experience with knowledge of process flow, value stream mapping, takt times, and lean manufacturing.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and take responsibility for meeting production targets.
