About the Role

The Government & Defence Internal Account Manager is a key position within our UK Road Logistics department, responsible for managing, maintaining, and growing existing accounts in our Government client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage operational taskings for Government contracts from start to completion, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with all relevant parties throughout the shipment to organize the movement of goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Deal with any issues that may arise during a shipment, providing prompt updates to the client and ensuring resolution.
  • Work with the customs department and customer to ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations and accordance with specific customer SOPs, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ensure all compliance and related trainings are up to date, staying current with industry developments and regulations.
  • Process sales and purchase invoices, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely payment.
  • Aid in the completion of other departmental work as needed, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department as a whole.
  • Be responsible for your own safety and health, as well as that of colleagues, in accordance with company safety and health rules, promptly reporting any safety hazards or near-misses.
Requirements
  • A solid understanding of freight forwarding processes, with knowledge of customs regulations an asset.
  • Strong customer service abilities, with a focus on delivering high levels of service and support to our Government client base.
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and communicating effectively.
  • Excellent task management skills, with the ability to handle pressure and work to deadlines.
  • A keen eye for accuracy and detail, with a focus on maintaining high levels of quality and precision.
