This role encompasses all technical aspects related to the repair, maintenance, enhancement, and re-servicing of council-owned, managed, and leased properties, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee a dedicated team of surveyors and support personnel within Housing Property Services.
- Act as a deputy in the absence of the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager.
- Continuously assess and enhance the economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of services across Housing Property Services.
- Implement innovative solutions to address challenges while aligning with strategic objectives and targets.
- Ensure the provision of a proficient technical support service, focusing on specialized areas such as disrepair, insurance claims, and customer relations.
- Foster collaborative relationships with selected contractors and strategic partners, coordinating essential activities such as supply chain management and resident consultations.
- Develop project-specific briefs to guarantee that all initiatives meet their objectives and adhere to contractual obligations, ensuring optimal value in cost, performance, quality, and future maintenance.
- Conduct a comprehensive program of Health & Safety inspections, evaluating findings and ensuring necessary actions are executed.
- Manage disrepair and other legal casework, liaising with legal representatives and maintaining communication with various departments.
- Chair project team meetings in accordance with established project timelines, monitoring, documenting, and reporting on all project progress.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Formal training in building technology or construction.
- In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
- Extensive experience in building inspection, fault identification, and report/specification preparation.
- Proven experience in supervising building projects and successfully managing contracts.
