Substance Misuse Coordinator

About the Role:
- Support service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey, fostering a culture of trust and empowerment.
- Deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions as part of the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service within the prison estate, prioritizing individualized care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers as part of an Integrated Health and Wellbeing model, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Advocate on behalf of service users who are unwilling or unable to engage in treatment, promoting autonomy and self-determination.
- Proactively follow up with service users who miss appointments, increasing opportunities for engagement and positive outcomes.
- Contribute to risk management processes, including prison ACCT processes, to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Work with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
About You:
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience working within a similar field, ideally within the prison or criminal justice sector.
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with good IT skills, to effectively engage with stakeholders.
- Be proactive and able to work independently, with excellent time management and prioritization skills, to meet service demands.
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices, to provide informed care.
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage change successfully, prioritizing the needs of service users, and understanding the importance of information governance processes.
- Commit to ongoing learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to improve and broaden your knowledge and skills, and contribute to the learning and development of others.
