The Structures department is a specialist team of Engineers who provide the business with the capability to design major structural elements for nuclear submarines. As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead the detailed design, support to build, delivery, and in-service support for marine engineering and manufacture of large sub-systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of structural engineering solutions for complex projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets business requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in structural engineering principles and practices
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or Mechanical/Civil Engineering with a significant Structural Focus
  • Proven experience in structural engineering design and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of finite element analysis methods and software
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
