Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Driver to join our team. As a CE Night Driver, you will be responsible for transporting flat-packed kitchen furniture components to our client's regional distribution hubs. The role requires a high level of skill and professionalism, particularly in securing the load on the trailer with straps, securing the trailer coupling to the unit, and adhering strictly to the tachograph and WTD rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport flat-packed kitchen furniture components to our client's regional distribution hubs
- Secure the load on the trailer with straps and ensure the trailer coupling is secure
- Adhere to tachograph and WTD rules
- Work night shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work
- Meet the required standards for driving articulated Class 1 vehicles and curtain sider trailer equipment
Requirements:
- Category C+E driving license
- CE entitlement for at least 1 year with active driving throughout that period
- Excellent strapping skills
- Ability to work night shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work
- Good understanding of tachograph and WTD rules
Benefits:
- Hourly rate of £18.67 per hour for night work, Monday to Friday
- Hourly rate of £23.33 per hour for night weekend work
- Shift premium of £14.66 per night
- All breaks are paid
- Minimum 8 hours paid per shift
- 33 days annual holiday accrual
Induction Training:
As part of our induction process, you will be required to attend a full shift, which will include visual material related to driving skill and hazard awareness, health and safety, and tachograph and highway code knowledge. This will be paid for hours worked, with a guaranteed minimum 8 hour payment.
Working Conditions:
The role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail required. You will be working with a team of experienced drivers and will be expected to maintain high standards of professionalism and safety.
