Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at EdEx - Education Recruitment. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in a mainstream primary school with a Special Resource Provision (SRP).

About the Role:
  • Support children with a range of needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Social, Communication and Interaction delay/difficulties, Speech and Language delay, Sensory processing difficulties, Physical self-help difficulties, Cognition and learning delay, and Global Delay.
  • Work closely with teachers and other teaching assistants to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, as well as providing one-to-one support to children.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
About the School:
  • The SRP is a bridge between a mainstream primary school and a special needs school, providing a supportive and nurturing environment for children with special educational needs.
  • The school has a strong focus on play-based learning, with children dipping into subject-specific curriculum as and when they are suitable based on their developmental ability.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
