Pastoral Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pastoral Care Assistant to join our Health and Wellbeing team at a prestigious school. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential pastoral and medical support to our pupils, ensuring their overall wellbeing in collaboration with the boarding house or the Medical Centre.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality pastoral care and assistance to pupils, prioritizing their health and wellbeing.
- Communicate effectively with the Housemaster/Housemistress and the School Nurse on a daily basis.
- Discuss welfare matters with parents/guardians as needed, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Address the health and medical needs of pupils, including attending appointments and managing medication.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Support the House and School by performing additional tasks and duties as necessary, contributing to a positive and disciplined atmosphere.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Previous experience in a school or medical/care environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Emotionally resilient with a caring disposition, able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Competent in literacy and numeracy, with a valid driving license.
- First Aid/Emergency First Aid knowledge is highly desirable.
- Experienced in handling confidential and sensitive information, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Must meet the school's employment checks, including DBS check and verification of the right to work in the UK.
