About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Technician to join our team at Amazon Data Services UK Limited. As a Data Centre Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres, providing technical support and maintenance to our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLAs). Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and respond to off-hour emergency calls per on-call rotation for any one of the region's sites.
  • Physical Security: Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
  • Network Operations: Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including those related to CISCO, Juniper, and other commodity networking devices.
  • Data Centre Operations: Assist in the planning and execution of local projects, including racking and stacking gear, cable management, and hot and cold aisle containment.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in an IT-related field, or equivalent professional or military experience.
  • Certifications: CCNA and/or Network+ certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a data centre environment, including experience with networking protocols, copper and fibre optic testing and cabling standards.
  • Driver's License: All candidates must possess a valid driver's license, their own vehicle, and will need to pass a driving record check to operate company vehicles.
