Job Title: Marine Surveyor
Location: Remote (with occasional travel)
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Marine Surveyor to join our team at Matchtech. As a Marine Surveyor, you will be responsible for acquiring high-quality bathymetric data on various vessels in challenging marine environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire bathymetric data using Kongsberg MBES, Applanix POS MV, and Sonardyne USBL equipment
- Process data using QINSy, Kongsberg SIS, and Sonardyne Ranger software
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-focused products
- Contribute to the innovation and improvement of processing workflows within the department
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position and a university degree in Hydrography or a closely related marine discipline
- Experience in offshore windfarm and cable route surveys
- Equipment knowledge in Kongsberg MBES, Applanix POS MV, and Sonardyne USBL
- Acquisition experience in QINSy, Kongsberg SIS, and Sonardyne Ranger
- Processing experience in QINSy and Caris HIPS & SIPS
- Processing experience in Qloud, Fledermaus, and Qimera is advantageous
- Experience in processing UK nautical charting datasets is highly desirable
- Experience of working in the shallow inshore environment is advantageous
- Experience of mobbing vessels of opportunity
- Party Chief experience is advantageous
- 'Cat A' surveyor-trained is advantageous
- Ability to work away from home for long periods
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment
- Eligible to work in the UK and possess a full UK driving licence
