Plant Director

Our client, PWS Technical Services (UK) Ltd, is seeking a highly skilled Plant Director to join their team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for managing the company's transport and fleet functions to ensure the safe and efficient movement of plant and equipment.

1. Plan, organize, and manage the transport and fleet functions to determine the best routes, optimize drivers' hours, and implement the most productive delivery schedules.
2. Lead a close-knit team of Fitters and Mechanics to ensure they repair, service, and maintain the company's fleet of specialist construction plant and equipment, as well as the HGVs required for their transportation.
3. Work closely with the internal operations team to fulfill the contractual commitments of projects in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
4. Ensure suppliers are managed in accordance with agreed SLA's and with the best terms of service, and when necessary, undertake appropriate benchmarking exercises to monitor and maintain value for money and quality.
5. Analyze expenditures and other financial information to provide feedback to consider process improvement plans, policies, and budgets for increasing operational efficiency in relation to the transportation and fleet function.

1. A good understanding of construction-related transport and fleet regulations to support the company's requirements in these areas.
2. A good understanding of transport regulations and supporting the company's licence requirements.
3. Sufficient knowledge of QA systems to manage the implementation of relevant processes and procedures appropriately.
4. Strong organizational skills for your team's workload, as well as planning workloads, schedules, and journeys to multiple sites UK wide.
5. Computer literacy relative to the requirements of the role.
